Duplicate Line Remover
Remove duplicate lines from any text. Preserve first or last occurrence. Case options. Free.
How to use the Remove Duplicates
Three dedup modes
First occurrence: standard dedup — first time each line appears, it's kept. Last occurrence: keep the bottommost copy and drop earlier ones (useful when the latest copy is the most up-to-date). Only unique: keep only lines that appear exactly once — anything that appears twice or more is dropped completely.
Common uses
Clean up email lists, remove duplicate URLs, deduplicate log entries, find unique values in a CSV column. The trim option helps when entries differ only by surrounding whitespace.
Frequently asked questions
Does the tool keep the first or last occurrence of a duplicate line?
You can choose. Keeping the first occurrence preserves the original order of appearance, while keeping the last occurrence retains the most recent entry for each duplicated line.
Is the comparison case-sensitive?
There is a case option. With case sensitivity on, 'Apple' and 'apple' are different lines; turn it off to treat them as duplicates.
Can I remove duplicates from a very long list?
Yes. Because the tool works in your browser, the practical limit is your device memory. Lists of tens of thousands of lines are normally handled instantly.
